Chief Brasfield on his birthday at Talil Airbase in Iraq. The medics had liberated an Iraqi flag and saved it for the Chief's birthday. Chief was really bummed because he hadn't scored any cool war trophies, like this flag. I had found a couple little candles somewhere and kept an MRE Cherry Nut Cake (Chief's favorite) in reserve for just this occasion. We prepared the 'birthday cake' and all gathered behind one of the ambulances. One of the guys went to get Chief, with some BS story about a patient we just received. Chief comes running to the ambulance and is greeted with a big, "Happy Birthday" and is enveloped in this flag. As you can see from the grin on his face, he was one happy trooper.
